To better understand the world of playwrighting, we will engage in a creative writing process. First, we will begin with writing a monologue, where a character reveals an inner thought or feeling. As you can see in the image, this is a guide to assist you with building a character backstory, in other words their history, their likes and dislikes, their relationships and their extended world.
